KO's on FTP, and the weekend

So, I made a few transfers w/ FCP'ers to get some money on FTP. Thx again, those who helped. I started off pretty bad, playing a few $3.30 KO's, as well as losing a buy-in at .10/.25NL short handed when my 89hh < 77 on a 7 10 J Q Q board. Not much I can do there, cept maybe get more money in on earlier streets.

I did however have some good fortune in a few $3.30 KO's. The play is comparable to the skill level of a $4.40 on Pstars, with the structure of a $12 180 turbo. The play is pretty god-awful in the beginning, improving slightly until the final table.

Anyway, I took 1st and 2nd, as well as a 10th (no $$.... $ bubble), so that's helped my FTP bankroll a bit. I've been running colllllllld on Pokerstars, and really haven't had time to play much of anything besides a few $4.40's here and there, with bad results. I think I cashed in 1 of my last 10 or something.

Hoping to get something going this week before I go home for the weekend.

Long time.. no blog..

So, it's the new year, and so far the month has been a little shaky, poker-wise.

However, last year was highlighted by my 15th in the Sunday Million from a stake from WhatArunAA. He decided to stake 5 people in the $11 100k gtd, and one deserving sole in the $215 Sunday Million. I offered myself as a qualified candidate, and I ended up getting the stake.

I was quite surprised I received it, and I had to convince my "skeptical about poker" parents that I absolutely needed the use of the computer for hopefully the entire day.

It started out kind of rocky... got myself into a jam early w/ A9os on a A 4 5 board, ending up being against some lag-tards gut-shot straight draw.... I had 3-bet preflop, and he somehow found the call button. Then he c/r'd all in w/ really no FE, so I tanked about 3/4 my timebank until I called, and my hand held.

I wasn't playing a lot of pots. However, when I had a hand I would get action on it. I think I had AA in big pots about 4 times, every time to double up. I doubled w/ AA against ImALucSac's AKss about half way through the tourney.

A few others for my tourney life... QQ>KK x x x x Q board... that one was standard, I guess my luckbox was turned on for that hand. Then shortly after, AQ>AJ in a battle of the blinds, all in preflop. That vaulted me to a top 10 stack with about 100 people left. I'd like to say i'm not disappointed in my finish, but when you're that close to a 5 figure pay-day, anything less isn't the same. I ended up netting $2,275, my biggest tourney cash to date.

During January, so far I've won a $4.40 and took 2nd in another. Was up about $400 right when I got back to school, right now i'm still up about $300.

I'm playing in the February $4.40 challenge w/ Tim "throwemaway" Dean. Hopefully we don't both suck donkeyballs (it's been known to happen) and can luckbox our way to a win, God knows we could both use the confidence boost.

Hopefully I'll update more often in the future, w/ non-poker happenings as well.
Take it easy,
